Propel Media Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains what information Propel Media, Inc. (referred to herein as “Propel Media”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects from individuals who access PropelMedia.com (the “Site”). This Privacy Policy also explains how we use and maintain that information.

Please note this Privacy Policy applies only to information collected on the Site and does not apply to (and we are not responsible for) the practices of companies that we do not own or control or to individuals we do not employ or manage. If you do not want your information to continue to be collected and used as provided in this Privacy Policy, you should not access or use the Site again.

1. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Please know that Propel Media may amend this Privacy Policy at any time. The updated Privacy Policy will be posted under the tab “Privacy Policy.” If you continue to use the Site after an amendment is posted on this Site, you are agreeing to be bound by the terms of that amendment. Therefore, you should review this Privacy Policy each time you use the Site. You can tell when this Privacy Policy has been updated by checking the date at the bottom of such page. We also encourage you to print out a copy of this Privacy Policy for review and reference.

2. What we collect

We collect two kinds of information through the Site. The first kind is information that can identify you as a specific individual, such as your name and email address (personally identifiable information” or “PII”). The second kind of information is the kind of non-personally identifiable information (“NPII”) collected and stored automatically by many websites. It includes, for example, information about your Internet service provider, IP address, operating system, type of browser, geographic location, and pages viewed on the Site. Although this information is related to you, it is not associated with your PII and cannot be linked to you personally. In addition, we have broken down this section into two categories to better explain how the Site collects your information:

  1. Advertisers (including but not limited to, direct advertisers, agencies and independent media buyers) and publishers (including but not limited to, direct website owners, agencies and publisher networks) who create an account on the Site (collectively, “Program Users”) to utilize the Propel Media Online Advertising and/or Publisher Program (“Program”)

If you are a Program User utilizing the Program and have created an account with us, we collect the following types of information:

Account Information. We collect and maintain all information that you provide to us in connection with the account registration process in order to help us manage your account and communicate with you as part of the Program. PII that is collected may include your name, email, phone number, address, instant messenger name, payment or bank information, alternative contact information and any other PII you may provide us as part of the Program.

Account Access. We collect and maintain your login information when you access your account in order to help us manage your account.

Reporting Information. We collect certain types of statistical and analytics information regarding the number of served advertisements and the performance of our overall Program, in order to help us optimize that performance.

  2. Visitors to the Site

If you are a visitor to the Site and are not utilizing the Program, we collect the following kinds of information:

Personally Identifiable Information. PII is collected by us only when you communicate with us via the “Contact Us” page. We ask for your name, company name, phone number and email address so that you can receive a response. If you do not want us to collect your PII as described above or to use and share your PII as described further below in this Privacy Policy, you should NOT provide it to us through the Site feature described above. By providing us with your PII using the “Contact Us” page, you are authorizing our use and sharing of your PII as described in this Privacy Policy and any subsequent revisions to this Privacy Policy as described earlier. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. However, if you would like to update or modify your PII, or if you would like us to remove it from our systems, you can make such requests via the “Contact Us” page.

Non-personally Identifiable Information. As with many websites, when you visit the Site, it automatically gathers certain technical and statistical NPII based on your computer information and stores it in log files. Such general NPII includes, but is not limited to, your IP address, browser type, operating system version and time and date stamp. In addition, we use “cookies” and similar means to collect aggregate Internet traffic statistics about the Site. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. Cookies contain information that can later be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. We use cookies to temporarily store session information (such as your login information). This helps you to move from page to page on the Site without having to sign in again on each page. If you do not want us to deploy cookies in your browser, you can set your browser to reject cookies or to notify you when a website tries to put a cookie in your browser software. We do not tie any PII to the cookies that we set.

Web Beacons. The Site may contain electronic images known as “web beacons” which are also sometimes called single-pixel gifs. Web beacons may be used to assist in delivering cookies, allow us to count visitors to the Site pages and to deliver services via the Site. We may also include web beacons in email messages in order to determine whether such messages have been opened and acted upon. We do not tie web beacons to any PII you submit while on our Site.

3. Use and Sharing of Information

We reserve the right to use your information: (1) for the specific purpose for which such information was provided as stated above; (2) for general Site administration purposes; (3) for the purposes disclosed at the time such information is provided; and (4) as otherwise stated in this Privacy Policy. We do not share, sell or trade any of your information with any third parties other than described herein. We may share your information with our principles, officers, directors, members, employees, consultants, agents, subsidiaries or affiliates, or our subsidiaries’ employees and consultants (collectively “Related Entities”). Neither we nor our Related Entities contribute to or participate in cooperative databases, which give other companies access to your information.

We and/or our Related Entities may also disclose your information to outside companies that help bring you the services we offer. For example, we and our Related Entities may work with outside companies to: (a) manage a database of user information; (b) assist in distributing e-mails; (c) assist with data collection; (d) provide data storage and analysis; (e) provide fraud prevention; (f) provide customer service by phone; and/or (g) provide other services designed to assist us in maximizing our business potential and maintaining our Site and the Program. We and our Related Entities require that these outside companies agree to keep confidential all information we share with them, and use the information only to perform their obligations to us.

In addition, if we go through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of its assets, your information will likely be among the assets transferred. We also reserve the right to disclose your information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process.

4. Children’s Privacy

Our Site is not directed to persons under 13. We do not knowingly collect PII from anyone under 13 years of age. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with PII we will take steps to remove such information.

5. Security

We have implemented technical, administrative and physical security measures to protect information from unauthorized access and improper use. We keep information on servers that are protected by firewalls and located in a physically secure facility accessible only to authorized employees of Propel Media and the Related Entities. From time to time, we review our security procedures in order to consider appropriate new technology and methods. Please be aware though, that, despite our reasonable efforts, no security measures are impenetrable and any information transmitted to us or through the Site will be at your own risk.

6. Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section 1798 entitles California customers to request information concerning whether a business has disclosed Personal Information to any third parties for the third parties’ direct marketing purposes. As stated in this Privacy Policy, we will not sell or share your PII with non-affiliated companies for their direct marketing purposes without your consent. California customers who wish to request further information about our compliance with this law or have questions or concerns about our privacy practices and policies may contact us by email at legal@propelmedia.com. Please allow 30 days for a response.
