As the browser wars rage on and valiant warriors begin to fall (ahem IE6), who will rise up? Will it be Firefox, IE7 (or even soon to be IE8), Safari, Opera, Flock, or one of the many other options. Or will it be Google’s newest addition to its laundry list of popular tools; Google Chrome was released to the public in its first beta form yesterday afternoon. The new powerful browser comes packed with so many new and exciting features they use a 38 page comic book to describe them all. The goal with this new browser was to release a faster, more stable, more secure browser that will improve the online user experience. One of the new features you will notice is what they are referring to as the “omnibox”. This tool, which looks similar to the standard URL box, offers suggestions for searches, top pages you have visited, and top pages you may want to visit (similar to the feature added to the latest release of Mozilla Firefox). You should also check out the new “Tab Page” feature, which occurs when you open a new tab…and instead of seeing just a blank page, you are brought to a page that lists your nine most visited pages. Oh…and for the developers, Chrome is an open source browser, and Google welcomes other browser developers to “take what they want out of it”.
I have been using Chrome for the past several hours and so far, the efficient and clean look and feel has stolen my attention away from my usual favorite, Firefox 3. Time will tell how this browser will hold up against the rest of the pack, and this is only the beta.

Colorado’s tourism industry continued to break records in 2007, welcoming 28 million domestic overnight visitors — an all time high for the state.
This is Colorado’s fourth year of consecutive growth, according to the Colorado Tourism Office.
Overall, overnight visitors to Colorado in 2007 increased 4% over 2006 (26.9 million visitors).
On a national scale, Colorado also made headway.
Colorado’s national share of marketable travel rose from 2.35% in 2006 to 2.5% in 2007.
Travel spending in the state reached new heights as well. Overall domestic visitor expenditures reached a record $9.8 billion in 2007, up 10% over $8.9 billion in 2006.
“Colorado’s market share increase is extremely significant given the intensely competitive national marketplace,” said Kim McNulty, director of the Colorado Tourism Office. “It continues to validate that marketing and promotion investments are furthering Colorado’s recognition as a top tourist destination.”
Colorado remains in first place nationally as an overnight ski destination, maintaining a huge lead over rival Western and Northeastern states with 20% market share.

As the dollar continues to tank, the US is a very attractive destination for international travelers. On May 1st the US Department of Commerce announce an 11% increase of international travelers to the US from January 2007 to January 2008.
On a piggy-backing topic the international traveler is not only coming to the US to vacation but they are also buying real estate. Let’s take New York City as an example. In international real estate, property in the Big Apple is almost considered cheap. NYC weighs in at the 15th most expensive city in the world falling behind Moscow and London. As foreign currencies continue to hit record highs, owning property in NYC seems like an even better deal. When Manhattan real estate is purchased buy a European they are nearly doubling their investment transactions worth due to exchange rates.
Lets face it, real estate in NYC will remain well above the housing market’s national trend. This is a prime investment opportunity for residential and commercial purchases.
